take it to a place where they do radios. im getting a new head unit with built in bluetooth gonna cost me about 250 without install dont go to best buy.
Or if your poor like me, lol, it is not hard just takes time because you have to remove the whole dashboard cover.
1 Open your fuse cover on your driver side, and pull the whole panel out and remove the screw that connects the dash.
2 Remove the panel on the opposite side, and remove screw there.
3 Remove the screw an the bottom of your defroster vent cover and remove that two expose two more and remove those as well.
4 Open your glove compartment and remove two screws from where the dash meets the compartment.
5 Still in your glove compartment there are two screws on the upper left hand side in a recess (they were brass colored on my two cars)
6 After all the screws are removed the dash cover should come out rather easily. Pull slightly back on the cover to release it from between the window and the dash. be gentle and don't force it though, if it doesn't want to come look for a hidden screw, you dont want to break the cover (there are two or three pins that are used to align the cover over the gauges, gentle rock the cover to slide these out.)
7 There are a few screws in the display cover, (the thing around the gauges and stereo) remove those and gently rock it out of place.
8 now the three mounting screws holding the stock stereo are visible remove them and disconnect the wires and its out.
its a pain in the neck to do, but its kinda simple. my problem is removing the rear speakers... cant do that. but to remove the radio head, what you have to do is open the glove compartment and the top compartment and find the 4 screws that are holding it in the dashboard. once you remove that, go under the steering wheel and remove the 4 or 5 screws holding the cover on. one that's off you will find 2 or 3 more screws to remove that plate that's covering the radio. theres also one more screw hidden on the bottom of that plate that needs to be un screwed. once you've gotten all the screws and panels off, you can pull out the plastic panel which is connected to the a/c directors and the A/c and heat controls. once its off, your dashboard will probably look all taken apart, but that's normal. You then find the two nuts holding the radio in and just undo those, once those are off, you can pull out the radio and disconnect it. hope that helped. GOOD LUCK, youll need it. lol
Gently pry the plastic dash piece away from the radio. This will go all the way across from the driver's side door to the middle of the dash where the radio is located. No specific tools are required, metal clips hold this piece in place. Once you have this removed, you will see the screws around the radio which must be removed prior to removing the radio. The back of the radio will have wires and an antenna wire connected which must be removed before the unit will come completely out of the dash.
Begin by removing the decorative radio retaining cover. Remove the radio retaining screws. Slide the radio out, remove the wiring harness and the antenna cable from the back of the radio.

im trying to find out the same thing
you will need to unscrew your dash and pull off the front plate of your dash, then you will need to unscrew the stock radio, then you will need to go ahead and pull out the adapter from the back of your radio.-Shocker
If you have the stock radio in you Grand Am, you will have to get really close to the radio to find the clock button...it is not colored, it is just slightly raised. It is very hard to find, tho. I don't remember just how to set it, but I do remember that it is much easier once you find that hidden clock symbol.
I did this not long ago in my ranger. There are four hole in the front of the radio, you must remove the trim around it to see them. They are on the four corners. They make a tool that fits in the holes and pushes the clips in and the radio pulss free. I used four drill bits that just fit in the holes. luck.
