How to repair Toyota Camry code p0446?

Answer:

Answer

First, you'll need to GENTLY remove the thin "frame" that goes around the door handle. Trust me, I "cracked" the little guy on both sides of my altima when changing my speakers. Use a little flat-head screwdriver.

Next, you'll need to pop the little "cover" that's inside the armrest. Same screwdriver as above probably. There's a phillips-head screw hiding in there. Once you get that bad boy off of there- I believe you also need to disconnect the connector for the lock/window controls. Sorry, it's been a few months...

To remove the entire door panel, start at the bottom. Use a WIDE screw driver or something similar that is broad and flat. Gently pry on the panel to "pop" the connectors loose that snap the panel to the actual door.

Do this almost all the way up and all along the bottom. Once you get all the "snaps" undone, you'll need to lift UP on the panel to get it out of where the window resides in it's down position. Remember those old school cup holders that went into the rubber seal that houses your window? The spot where those guys were inserted is where your door panel comes out.

More input:

  • It's usually a loose gas cap try tightening it and clearing the codes to see wether it comes back on or not.
  • It can also be a build up of rust on the mouth of the fuel filler port. Causes the same effect as a bad or loose fuel cap. Much cheaper to fix though.
