Before replacing check that power is going to ac compressor i found that escort maybe others have a box call cng or something under the air cleaner just remove it you will see black box 2-3 inch approx big like 40 pin connector attached remove small six mm bolts holding it unscrew connector lug and unplug now you have to drill two pop rivets on side or just buy 250 module n replug but if wanna check it out just open it there are like 3 or 4 30 amp large relays these control the fans and the smaller one at end is a 12 volt 20 amp no relay i just replaced it with a omron 8ga something just needs coil 12volt n at least 20 amp rating easier if solder mount as one that's there is soldered if it bad like mine it was obvious was melted on side of relay and swollen 5$ part fixed my problem just that hey here's a design flaw should been 30 amp or 25 relay but think 20 biggest in that size /form factor any way hope this helps manzanita657@msn.com.
To replace the a/c compressor the freon has to be removed from the system and should be done by an a/c professional. There is a very stiff fine for letting freon exit into the atmosphere.
