It would be nice to know what vehicle you have but genneraly pretend you are changing a tire---after the wheel is off most rear drums are loose and if your are not carfull it will fall on your toes--a slight exageration but if it won't just pull off hit the edge with a hammer to loosen the rusted center-----some have a drum and hub assembly which would require a little more work to remove the nut and lock washer before the drum assembly will come off

Why drum brake is preferred for vehicle?

Disc brakes are actually preferred on vehicles because they cool more quickly then drum brakes, which allows them to be more effective at braking. However, many cars have rear drum brakes because they are cheaper and easier to replace, and as the rear brakes actually do not have much of an effect on overall braking, it is not necessary to have disc brakes.

How do you change car brakes?

This will greatly depend on what kind of brakes you have and which parts you are trying to replace. Do you have disc or drum brakes? If you have disc brakes, do you want to replace the calipers, pads, or rotors? If you have drum brakes, do you want to replace the drum, or the shoes?
