How to replace the front right blinker for a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Answer:

Answer

First you have to pull out the headlight. There are no screws for this it just pops out towards the front when you get enough force behind on it. Then you have access to a few screws that hold the parking/blinker light assembly. Unscrew those and you have all the room you need to change the blinker bulb. Should be the same on all 93-98 Grands.

I've got a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 w/ Quadtrac & have had to replace some light bulbs in it. To get the headlight off, you have to unscrew the top screw which is in the corner closest to the fender, and then there's another screw between the headlight & the front blinker even though there's absolutely no room. I could find no way to get a screwdriver or any other took to fit in there & the repair shop had no idea how to replace it. I was told by a friend that you can get an Allen wrench in there? I ended up breaking the brackets for the bottom screws on both headlights, but you can keep the headlight staying in with just the top screw. You can then get to the screws for the blinker housing. Take off the housing because it's a lot easier to change the bulb with the housing off rather than to try to keep the housing on & trying to replace the bulb!
