You can do what is referred to as a `hard reset' simply by unplugging it for a few minutes. Once plugged back in, the receiver's internal operating system will be forced to reboot and re-acquire the signal. This method is usually good for removing all the little glitches in your receiver, like not responding to all the remote control signals, freezing, etc.
