How turgidity provides support to plant?

Answer:
When the cell swells with water the hydrostatic force pushes outwards against the cell wall / cell membrane

This makes the cell turgid - like filling a ballon with water. This provides support by physically 'bulking up' the plant

Without the turgidity the organism would become limp, much like lettuce that has been left out of the fridge for days.
