∙ 15y agoI wasn't aronud at the the time but I think it was similar to how it's celebrated today. I say that based on actual WWII documentaries depicting life in the US. Whether the commercialism is comparable, I can't say. I do recall reading somewhere that the popular Christmas songs we sing today were written during those years.
