The people generally wanted to stay out of it. Roosevelt wanted to enter it as soon as possible. its called isolation or nutrality which means you are separate and stay away from foreign affairs

The Yalta Conference was a meeting to discuss the fate of Germany after the war had been won.

Decisions made:

How to defeat Germany -- surround them (corner them)

Disarmament -- they would not be allowed to have an army

Occupation of Germany -- Troops would patrol to keep things under control

Truman (successor of FDR)

Democratic Government -- Japan's "Divine Dictatorship" would be replaced with a democracy

Truth -- Emperor could keep throne, but give up his "Divine Dictatorship" (admit to the people that he was not chosen by God)
