People had just arrived from Europe, some for religious freedom (though not all). They rarely saw any Native Americans, and they did not know how to fish or even grow crops. When the winter came (known as the Starving Time) (winter of 1607 i believe, check that fact), people were so hungry they resorted to cannabalism and eating their leather clothes. The few that made the winter out alive seeks and received the help of native Americans. The daily life. Well, the few women there did the cooking and cleaning, after they built houses, while the men made bigger housing plans and/or hunted. hope this helped.
