You need to read up on Henry the Eighth. In very simplistic terms, he created the Anglican church as a replacement to the Catholic Church, on the pretext that he wanted a divorce from his wife Catherine, whereas the Catholic Pope denied the request.

The Church of England was not found, it was the Body of Christ here in Britain. Brought here so we are told by S.Simon Zelotes, Apostle and brother of Christ!

The first Bishop was s.Aristobulos, the friend of S.Paul and mentioned in Romans!

The Church was given precedence at the Latin Councils of the Middle Ages because of its antiquity it being believed to have been here circa 37 AD.
