The first lawn mower was invented by a English engineer by the name of Edwin Beard Budding in 1827. He was observing a machine cutting nap from fabric and saw it could be converted to cutting grass. The manufacturing of mowers started in the 1860s. Australian Victa started to produce a gasoline-powered rotary mower in 1952, but they were not effective.
