Mostly very good. Plebeians, by the time of the Pax Romana were part of the wealthy aristocratic class. Of course, there were some Plebeian families who had lost their fortunes just as there were Patrician families who were impoverished. Don't make the mistake of thinking that the Plebeians were the underdogs of Roman society. While they may have been the downtrodden at the beginning, they gained rights, opportunity, wealth and social prestige.
