Well we know that the act levied taxes on paper, legal documents, playing cards etc due to the debt of the 7 Year's War Britain won. This act is important because it led to the development of the corecive acts, Boston tea party, the creation of the 1st continetantal congress and 2nd continental congress which eventually led to the writtin document THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. The stamp act is important because it led to all this and people were sort of enlightened because they realized " hey you know what, I got rights! This isn't fair so I'm going to do something about it (example Boston tea party they dumped all the tea over). This idea of liberalism contributed to the declaration of independence. I hope that helped!

The Stamp Act was an act passed by the British Parliament in a bid to tax the American colonies. It was a tax on all legal and commercial documents (ex. marriage licenses, wills, etc.) and were not binding unless the tax had been paid and the paper had received an official governmental stamp. Needless to say, the colonists resisted the legislation.

The stamp act was when people acted against the government because of the taxes. The stamps on products were taxed. If you bought a product and there was a stamp on it, you'd have to pay the tax.
