There is a continual balancing act going on in your body amongst various micro-organisms, among them bacteria and yeasts. A yeast infection or overgrowth can occur when the bacteria which help control it get depleted for some reason, such as taking an antibiotic. The bacteria in the yogurt help to replenish your body's supply, so that the balance can be restored. Both eating it and applying it directly can be beneficial.

Of course, it would not be possible or desirable to rid your body of all micro-organisms. There are many which are required for good health--hence they are called "benefical." It is when the contol mechanisms, whether your own immune system or other micro-organisms, are compromised that some of these "friends" get out of place and become enemies.

And if you want to cure yeast infection with natural treatment, you can try herbal therapy "fuyan pill" from Wuhan Dr. Lee's TCM Clinic. It is made up of natural herbs, and it has the similar effects with antibiotics.

Hope this could help you.

No that's a old wifes tale. It was probably recommended once since a yeast infection can itch and burn and cold yogurt would calm the skin. So you can use it for that. It usually clears itself in 2 weeks but if not there is medication over the counter. If that does not help you have to see a doctor.

Pro-biotic unsweetened yoghurt helps yeast infections - it's the Lactobacillus Acidophilus that helps, this bacteria is found naturally in the vagina and produces hydrogen peroxide to kill yeast. You can eat it to improve overall healthy flora in your body, or you can insert plain yoghurt vaginally.

No that is a myth. It can feel good because it's cold but it wont cure it. Yeast infections usually goes away by itself but there's also meds so look at the pharmacy. You can take fuyan pill to eliminate the inflammation and kill bacteria.

Although there is limited research, some studies show that yogurt containing lactobacillus acidophillus can help prevent, and combat yeast infections. Not all yogurts contain Lactobacillus Acidophillus, which is one of the reasons why many people explain the yogurt yeast infection theory as a myth.

No, yoghurt cannot give you a yeast infection - at least not unless you put yoghurt sweetened with sugar into your vagina. Yoghurt can help prevent and treat yeast infections, the bacteria found in probiotic yoghurt is the same found in healthy vaginas so eating it can help maintain healthy bacteria within the body. You can insert sugar-free plain probiotic yoghurt vaginally to reintroduce healthy bacteria to prevent infections or to treat yeast infections.

Will giving a pug yogurt help with a yeast ear infection?

If your pug has a yeast ear infection you need to take it to the vet for antibiotics and medicated ear drops. It is sometimes recommended as an additional home remedy for human babies with thrush in their mouths, but I would not suggest this at all for pugs. You need to take your pug to the doctor!-Yogurt will help a yeast infection. Antibiotics will only work and be needed if there is a bacterial infection. Chronic ear infections in pugs (I have 2) are usually actually an allergy to the grains in their food which is also something to explore with your vet. We do grain free food and yogurt everyday.-

Can home remedies like yogurt help with vaginal infections?

Eating yogurt can help you with vaginal infections. I have heard that putting plain yogurt in your vagina can help although I have never tried this first hand. If you get frequent vaginal infections and you have partnered sex, get your partner checked as well. Many men can harbor the yeast infection without symptoms and pass it back to you the next time you have intercourse, reinfecting you. It's always good to have your GYN diagnose your infection in case it's something besides a yeast infection. Certain medical conditions like diabetes can make you more prone to yeast infections as well as certain medications like antibiotics which can upset your natural flora.
