You didn't say what career you were into and if you are a psychiatrist you wouldn't be discussing any patient with us even though you haven't given a name. So, it sounds like you are in another type of business.
If someone said this to me I would be calm about it and say, 'What makes you say that?' This is an opener for your client to perhaps give his/her reasons why they feel this way. The remark made could be just a simple saying for a lot of problems the person may be feeling at the time. It could be financial problems; a marriage gone bad, etc. You basically have to ask your client to be sure they will do no harm to you or anyone else that may work in the same company as you do. If you feel this client is going over the edge then you will have to either drop the client or wait until something happens so you can call the police.
