It depends on a number of things.Have you hit your head?Did it just come out of the blue? Are you taking meds to try and get rid of it? If you have taken alot of Tylenol or ibuprofen you could be into a rebound headache caused by the pills.Sometimes there is a flu that can come with a 3 or 4 day headache.Try an ice pack and lay down for a couple hours in a quiet dark room.If you haven't taken any pills take 2 extra strength(500mg) Tylenol or ibuprofen and do the ice pack and lay down. Also dehydration can cause a terrible headache so make sure your drinking lots of water. But you should be checked out anyways to rule things out.Try and go to a Dr. if you can.Best of luck!
Answeronce i had a headache for 4 days, after trying every over the counter medicines, i gave in and went to the doctor, she said i had a sinus infection, and told me to go to the vitamin shoppe and get this over the counter nose spray called "nasal spray with GSE" it did the trick. AnswerYou could also be suffering from cluster headaches. Migraines are usually very severe and light or noise bothers the person and they need to be in a dark and quiet room and just rest. It's best to let your doctor make the diagnosis. AnswerAlthough these are all good suggestions there can be something much more medically serious going on here. If you are able, check your blood pressure. Also look for symmetry in the face and ask people who are around you all the time to see if they noticed you have been acting "a little off" recently. Either way you should definitely go see your MD. He/She might want you to follow up with a neurologist or possibly get an MRI of your braindepends on what kind of headache it is. Your best bet is to call your doctor and ask him/her what to do. I have migraines that can last for 3-4 days sometimes longer, that may be what your having.
Try taking over the counter medicines or use natural remidies to see if that helps your headace or try to nap or relax and forget about your headache It always works for me! But if your headache is really bad or it just wont go away you might wanna see the doctor. It's probably a migrane
Whether or not you should be worried about a 72 hr headache is dependent upon the type of headache you are suffering from, and how serious it is. There are over 300 different types of headache disorders and some of them may be chronic, lasting for days, weeks or even years. Others do not. Most three day headaches should be investigated to be sure there is nothing else going on that needs to be treated, especially if this is a symptom that is new to the patient.
For appropriate diagnosis and treatment of headache disorders, seek the help of a qualified and board certified Migraine and headache specialist.
Any change in the pattern of headache you normally have, or any new type of headache should be investigated by a doctor and serious conditions ruled out.

You should always put aspirin in your locker or purse or backpack. Then when you get the chance, take it. And you should put your head on your desk or hold it up with your arms. Keep it there for a while and it MIGHT go away. I am not positive though. I am 40% sure. Although working TOO hard will cause this to aggravate it. Don't put your head down, or a teacher might think your sleeping or do it to a teacher you know wont care. Ask to go to the nurse, AFTER you took the medicine, say you have a headache, its the LAW for them to have you rest for 30-50 Min's. So if you rest about that period of time it should of gone away, depending about how much medicine you took or via headache level.
