In the first season of Cheers, Cliff came up with several of his addle-brained theories, including this one about presidents. He claimed that the numerical value of the letters in the last name of each of the US presidents to date was equally divisible into the year in which he was elected.
He went on to say that the next president (in 1984) would be someone named "Yelnik McGwawa."
It was conveniently called "Cheers" as well.
He died in after the third season ended on cheers. It was a big lost for Cheers so they brought in Woody Boyd. The magic clicked and they used Woody throughout the entire show. He died in 1985 I believe.
