Dwight D Eisenhower is long dead now- he died in 1969 (the year I was born!), on the 28th March. He was born on October 14th 1890, and was 79 years old when he died. If he were still alive today, he'd be 119!!

Well for one we would not have highways. Dwight D. Eisenhower adopted the highway system from the Germans, and originally used it for a way to transport tanks and other Army vehicles. Now they are used for faster automotive transportation. If he wasn't here, it would take much longer to get from place to place.
