These are more properly called Paper Dolls. they were published by specialist publishers such as Whitman ( who did lots of other things), Saalfield ( always pronounced in the US Sal- a-field) and some others. For some sad reason they have all gone out of business- at least as regards paper dolls- there are specilist artists such as Tom Tierney still plying the craft ( Dover publications). There are unconfirmed reports of a l959 Saalfield ( they were the top gun in the arsenal, so to speak) planned project on- Gina Lollobrigida, I have never seen it! She was close to her peak in that year!
