Typically, real gold will be stamped with values such as 14k (14 karat), 18k GF (18k gold-filled), etc. The best way to tell; however, is to take the piece to a jeweler who has a gold testing kit or gold testing acids.

There are several ways to tell if you have real gold. The first way would be to see if it is magnetic because real gold will not stick to a magnet. Another way to tell is to look up what the dimensions of your gold piece should be and compare it to your own because gold tends to be very uniform in coins, and bars.
you know that gold is burn at 1036 0C. You know that Gold will react with NH3CO2 and HCL MIXTURE but not coincident by any acid . You know that gold is conductor. you know that gold is gold.
Real gold will have a stamp on it telling what it is. It should say 10K, 14K, 18K, 24K, or gold filled. Gold filled (GF) is not real gold. If the chain or pendant or ring doesn't have this on it then it isn't real gold.
