Most adoptive parents now tell the child, or the adopted child was old enough to know he/she was adopted. You can talk to your parents about any questions related to your birth, place of birth, time of birth, Doctor Who delivered you, etc.
As a side note, many children wonder "Was I adopted?" Sometimes the question arises after a child meets a friend who was adopted, or when a child feels conflict with his/her parents. Some children wish they had been adopted.
Answer by Katie,
If you believe that you are adopted the best thing to do is bring it up to your parents. I would sit them down and simply ask. All they could say is yes or no. That's it. The hard part is over. But if you are not satisfied with that solution then ask for your birth certificate. If you are adopted your paternal mothers name will be on it. DNA testing would be expensive and is unnecessary. Just know if you are adopted that your parents loved you enough to pick you. That is even more special because they choose you. They choose to love you. I hope this has helped you.

You go to your parents and sit down with them and ask them if you are, or you can get a DNA test, that works too.

If you are doubtful that you are a adopted child the only reliable source to know the truth is to confront your parents. Ask them and talk to them about this serious matter, and besides it's your right to know your origin.
Another answer:
Go ask your science teacher. He will figure it out using genetics.
You may also notice your parents features and if you they look like there are some traits that they have but you don't have, then there is a possibility.
In general, you cannot tell a legally adopted child from a natural born child in a family. The best way to tell is to ask, but that would be rude and inconsiderate unless you have both a need to know, and some reason for asking the question.
If you are trying to determine whether a child is just placed with a family or if he has been adopted, the family should have records detailing the entire process for an adoption. As a teacher, I encountered situations like this once in a while, where I really wanted to know but did not have a legal right to pry into private matters. In each case the family was able to provide information to let me know the situation.
you should ask the person who is close to you very calmly if the person says somthing like ''are you crazy noooo!'' then you know its not true if they say somthing like '' i dont want to talk about this'' then they probably are adopted. but dont come right out and say '' yes i knew it'' say okay we dnt have to GOOD LUCK!
You can ask your parents. Otherwise, you may never know.

ask your parents
If a child is older they know if they were adopted but the ones who are adopted as babies, and therefor have pictures, might never find out unless the parents tell or their parents or siblings try to find them.
yes.
