To clean a steam iron use white vinegar, the same as you would to clean a coffee pot. Fill the resiviour with a half water half vinegar solution, let it heat, then push the steam button until the resiviour is half empty.the dump out the rest and rinse the resiviour 4-5 times with clean water pushing the stream button until the steam no longer smells like vinegar......viola you have a clean iron!

Pour a solution that is one part vinegar to one part water in. Turn the iron on. Allow it to steam for about four minutes. Drain the iron for an hour, then repeat the process with clean water before you iron any clothing items.

You can use salt. Lay out an old newspaper on a hard surface like a table, pour a teaspoon of salt, then run the iron while it is hot onto the salt on the newspaper. It should get it out!
