I have to write an essay about myself personally and academically. How do I write this?

Do you want this to be serious, or light-hearted?

Have you moved around a lot so far in your life? if so, you might organize your essay on the locations where you've lived. Find some light-hearted or thoughtful way of labeling the sections based on location. For example:
Chicago: Birth and growing pains.
etc.

If you haven't moved around a lot, find something else to use as a basic structure. Age, school events, etc.

Once you have broken the essay down in this way, and given each section a name in keeping with the tone of the essay, the rest of the section should support the name you've given it. For example: grade school years: So free, I'm stuck
"Free and stuck... Impossible, you say..." Then talk about having to spend time alone after school (latch-key kid?) etc.

You get the point.
