I said some horrible things in a letter then found out he had a death in the family. He feels guilty about ignoring me should I call to apologize?

[Edit]
Call, beg. Men don't forgive but they do forget - sometimes.

Your first move should be a letter of explanation and true apology. After that the ball is in his court. He will either open avenues of communication or not. If he does get back in touch I think you should work on your trust issues. If he does not, I think you need to take a long look at your behavior and learn from your mistakes.
