As far as my knowledge goes, I am pretty sure thats not possible. DVD is not just a better CD, its a DVD. They work differently. Software can't manipulate how the lasers reads data. Perhaps I am wrong, but I don't believe so. Hope this helps.

you cannot play a dvd from a cd, how ever there are programmes now that allow you to convert and burn dvd to cd, but u still need a dvd reader to read dvd before you can convert to cd
