Tattoos, depending on your skin type, take anywhere from one to three weeks to heal completely. It is a wound. It heals like a wound. The only difference is, the resulting scar is full of ink.
If the scab that forms over your tattoo gets soggy and falls off too soon, the tattoo will heal splotchy and uneven--a huge waste of your money and both yours and your tattoo artist's time. So plan on taking at least a couple of weeks off. Also, when you do go back in the water, keep an eye on any reactions to the chlorine that your skin might experience. The chemicals may dissolve your scab even faster and dissolve the ink along with it.
As for wrapping your tattoo in cotton and Duct Tape--DON'T DO IT!!
When your tattoo is finished, your artist will cover it with a smooth bandage that won't stick when you take it off. My tattoo artist tells me to leave it on for 4 hours. Some say only 1. Some say more than 4. Again, this depends on your skin type, the climate you live in (e.g., is it very sunny there?), and the size of the piece. The reason this bandage is only on for a few hours is so that the skin has a chance to calm down for awhile after being stabbed with a needle thousands of times. The tattoo and its scab need to breathe after that period of time to begin the deeper healing process.
If you still have questions about any of this, talk to your artist ahead of time and don't be afraid to ask him or her all the questions you can think of. They may look intimidating with full sleeves and facial piercings but my experience is that most tattoo artists are really very good people and they know what they're doing. If that's not the impression you get from your artist, then find a different one. You should be comfortable with this person--you're going to be sitting with them in a compromised position for a few hours, attempting to make small talk. :)
Its not recommended but if you do, then use plenty of factor 50+ suncream even if you are in a swimming pool. This prevents the tattoo fading and the ink 'dying' on the surface of the skin.
No, because the tatoo is permanent.
He has a innoprobriate tattoo of fern cotton on it
No he doesn't. On a reason trip to the Bahamas Justin was spotted with no tattoo. The only place he could have a tattoo would be somewhere hidden under his swimming trunks.
you have to get a tattoo before.( more than 20)
Smoking marijuana before getting a tattoo should have no effect to the tattoo process. Other pain killers like Advil before a tattoo on the other hand will thin your blood and cause bleeding during the process.
I personally don't have a tattoo - yet - but a friend of mine recently got one and he told me that he was supposed to keep it as dry as possible. We went swimming a little while after he got it, and he told us that he needed to stay out of the water for around two weeks. I think he mentioned it was to prevent infections from the lake water. I think showers would be okay as long as you dried it off quickly, but a lake I would say no. Pools would be chancey, because I don't think chlorine would be too good for it.
A person needs to wait for at least 6 or 8 weeks after surgery before getting a tattoo. The person getting the tattoo will need to speak to their doctor before getting the tattoo after surgery to make sure they are healthy enough.
If you have a new tattoo it isn't recommended to have your tattoo in water for an extended amount of time. If you are going in the water you could use medical tape, saran wrap, and whatever ointment your tattooist recommends for the healing process. I, personally, would put ointment on the tattoo, cover it with the saran wrap and then use the medical tape to hold it on. Doesn't sound very attractive, but it will allow you to spend time in the water and not affect the tattoo.
Yes, he has a tattoo of Jack from the nightmare before christmas on his chest :-)
I assume your meaning "what medications can i take before getting a tattoo", and the answer would not be asprine. Asprine are blood thinners and can cause serious problems, as can drinking. Do not take asprine or drink with in 48 hours before getting a tattoo.
