The word neighbors i believe refers to same descendants. So the Commandment thy shall not covet thy neighbor's house, wives, stuff ..... etc, refers to the their particular tribe. But it's OK to plunder, rape and kill members of other tribes in the name of the God of the Hebrews, as told in the Bible. Matthew 10:5 "These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:"

Christians should tell thier neighbors about Christ! It is the great commission to do so. But I think today all people including Christians have become afraid of rejection and don't want to be labled as narrow minded or religious freeks, bible thumpers and so on. When Christians speak out on issues that plague us these days they are targeted as biggits, pregidous and hipocrits. Its unpleasent and people don't want to make waves these days but thats exactly what we need and what we need to do don't we?

Well, in my brutal experiences Jesus has allowed the very scum of the earth to serve on his counsel. It is full of liars, thieves, rapist, mentally deranged, abusers and hypocrites placing themselves before the people as diciples and apostles.

They are in fact preaching what they know and exactly what they are before the people.

If Jesus is really intending to make a dent in the world with his teachings he must remove his entire staff and replace them with sincere and competent people..

I believe Jesus fails to understand that he cannot provide a carbon copy or bandaid as a true remedy to his problems within his ministry.

Jesus explains the difference in the true believers, which are the (salt of the earth), and the false believers, which you refer to as scum of the earth. The Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the wheat and the tares can be found in Matthew 13. Jesus gives answers to all of your reasons for not WANTING to believe. No one wants to take the time and effort to read the Bible. It does require some knowledge. Maybe that is why. "My people perish for lack of knowledge." Now, I wonder who said that.
