If a boy is 19-years-old and a girl is almost 16 are there any laws against them dating or having sex in South Carolina? |

Answer
Dating is not the same as having sex. Get that one straight. You could also get busted for intimate sexual behavior with someone below the age of consent even if you don't have intercourse. Please look at the related question below for some more things you need to think about.
Answer
According to this website, ageofconsent.com, the legal age of consent for a female in SC is 16. Therefore, as long as the female consents, it is not statutory rape!
*"Almost 16" does not qualify as being 16. Until her 16th birthday, it is possible that the 19-year-old boy could get into legal trouble for having sex with a girl who is not of the legal age of consent. However, legally, you are considered 16 years old the day before your true 16th birthday, if that is what you mean by almost.
