The engine will overheat and can cause severe engine damage. The engine will be completely ruined if it is not immediately shut off.

What happens to your vehicle when you add the wrong coolant?

The remains of the old coolant can cause the new coolant to fail. Using the wrong type of coolant can also damage the engine.

Will increasing the flow rate of coolant cool the engine faster?

No, if the coolant circulates too quickly it will not have time to cool down and re-cool the engine. The coolant would become extremely hot, and cause your engine to overheat and thus causing possible engine damage.

Can driving without oil and water in coolant cause engine to blow up?

no oil in engine or water in radiator will cause engine to seriously o/heat! and eventually seize! major engine damage!!

Will a blown head gasket cause the coolant to leak into the engine?

In most cases yes it will. The coolant will mix with the oil and this will immediately cause damage to engine bearings and rings. STOP driving any car with a blown head gasket. You must have this repaired immediately or you will destroy the engine.

What to do when the engine coolant light turns red?

Stop, pull over, shut off your engine, and call for assistance. You can cause serious damage by overheating your car.

If the heater core is not replaced can it cause damage?

If your heater core is LEAKING engine coolant so that your engine coolant level drops too low or the engine coolant is lost completely and causes your engine to overheat then your engine can be damaged beside the mess the leaking coolant makes inside your vehicle ( you might be able to just temporarily bypass the heater core so that no engine coolant is flowing through the heater core )

If your coolant is low will this stop your car from starting?

No, but if it starts to over heat, for an extended period of time it will cause engine damage. go grab some coolant, its not to expensive or hard to fill.

Can no coolant in reservoir cause engine not to start?

Coolant is used to keep an engine in a vehicle at a temperature safe for operation. If no coolant is in the reservoir, an engine will not start.

What happens when a car runs out of antifreeze?

Assuming you still have some form of coolant (water) in your radiator then the coolant will freeze when the weather is cold enough, coolant expands when it freezes, this may cause permanent damage to your engine, such as split pipe's, burst radiator, cracked engine block

Can you drive with a broken head gasket?

You can keep driving the vehicle if you want to destroy the engine. The more you run the engine the more damage will be done. Coolant mixing with the oil will cause severe engine wear.

Can antifreeze coolant cause damage to catalytic converter?
