No, Your Insurance contract gives the Insurance company the right to settle or defend whichever is cheaper.

If the insured property owner interferes with the companies decisions you could forfeit all coverage under your policy for that claim and even get your policy cancelled.

Is an insurance company allowed to charge a new customer an additional surcharge on their policy because they were with their last insurance company three years instead of five years?

Yes, however, it is not an actual surcharge. Prior insurance is a rating factor and determines what rating tier you are put into. It can be based on time with the other company, your bodily injury limits with the other company and if you've ever had any lapses in insurance.

Will an insurance company pay out a dwelling claim if you decide not to rebuild?

Yes, but generally at Actual cash value (either market value or replacement cost minus depreciation) instead of replacement cost. However, the insurance company will generally pay to reconstruct at another location.

Regarding fire insurance and home owners policies do I have to have coverage for what it would cost to rebuild or are there other options instead of rebuilding the same big house?

Generally, insurers are expected to restore you to a pre-loss condition. It is up to your insurance company whether to do that by rebuilding or by making a cash settlement.

Can you keep house insurance money instead of fixing a damaged floor?

Its your $$$ now !!! you can do with it what you want. * If the home is not still under a mortgage contract the homeowner is not obligated to use insurance funds for repairs of the property. However, if repairs are not done the insurance provider can refuse any claim if the flooring or adjoining structure is damaged further. If the home is still mortgaged repairs must be made as the lender would have to sign the insurance check as well as the homeowner/borrower. All mortgage contracts stipulate that the property must be kept in the same or better condition as it was when the property was purchased and lending agreement made. You could BUT that would be called insurance fraud... Lis@

If you have medicaid or other health insurance can a medical provider file a lien against the bill instead of billing Medicaid or the health carrier?

A provider is not required to accept Medicaid or private insurance. However, if the provider indicated to you that s/he was doing so in your case, there's at least an ethical problem. In Illinois, a provider who accepts a patient as Medicaid cannot bill the patient if Medicaid fails to pay due to the provider's negligence in billing.

Where can my friend get car insurance premiums?

He could get car insurance premiums if he got a quote from a trusted car insurance provider, maybe Progressive. If he doesn't want to fill out fields, he can request to be contacted by phone instead. It'd be quick and easy.

Which is best Landlord insurance or homeowners insurance?

It is not a question of better, it is a question of different. Coverage intended for a landlord does not generally include contents coverage. Instead, it covers the structure itself and may include liability insurance for those accroutrements which may pose a hazard to third parties for which the property property owner may be liable. Homeowners insurance is for someone who owns and occupies the property. It generally covers property damage to the structure (certain risks may be excluded, however), contents, and liability coverage. It is a package policy and generally affords a broad range of coverages.

What would be the benefits of opting for individual property insurance coverage?

What are the benefits of doing car insurance?

DO you mean selling Insurance or purchacing Insurance? If you are talking about selling car insurance then there are many. So many people spend thousands of dollars per year on auto insurance and have no idea what they are really paying for. If you take a career in the insurance industry I would hope that you would take the time to educate your clients instead of just focusing on the price.
