Because...
Because there will be times when the store will have to close down. Some close on Thanksgiving Day and/or Christmas. The manager will shut the store down after a robbery or a electric power failure. It would be closed for quite a few days if the inside needs to be redecorated, renovated, or updated. The Health Department could order the store to close down until a particular problem is resolved. If all of the employees have to leave the store, they would lock the doors, too. There are probably a few more reasons that I haven't thought of, but this gives you an idea of why there are locks.
Because almost all commercial doors are manufactured with holes and hardware for locks installed. It would not be economically feasible to make special doors just to avoid adding $10 - $20 in locks.
It also makes sense because you can't plan for everything. Stores are closed in emergencies, and need to be locked before they actually open for business on the first day.
In many stores the clerk also locks the doors to use the restroom so the store is no left unattended.
Even a 24-hour store has to be closed sometime. If the electricity goes out, or if the area is flooded or hit by a tornado - even if the store manager suddenly gets sick and has to go to the hospital, they would need to close and lock the store.
the doors have locks on them because they are required by the city to be on the doors. It would be against code if the door didn't have locks, regaurdless of their store hours.
It stays on
Answer: busted door switch/switches.
The door ajar light stays on ONLY when the key is on, you may have a faulty switch in one of your doors. My power locks are like yours, the rear driver door locks, but none of the others. My passenger door lock is jamed (unlocked thankfully) I think this may be causing the other locks to malfunction.
Does the dome lights not stay on when the doors are left open?
bad door ajar switch inside one of the doors its in the striker assy
In my car, the power door locks don't become active until the doors are closed. If the door sensor is damaged or misaligned the computer may never get the signal that the door is closed and as such may never get around to locking the doors. I don't know if the same type door lock mechanism is used for a Tarus, but it's definitely a possibility. Makes sense - thanks for the help! I also discovered from other peoples questions that the door switch on the Taurus is prone to sticking. Cleaning the door switch took care of all of the problems.
Bankruptcy stays on your record at least seven years in Ontario. Bankruptcy often stays on you record permanently, it just isn't considered after seven years.
If the door is ajar and light stays on, spray some WD40 into the latch. The door switch is probably stuck. Spray all doors then open and close a few times.
