CET is Central European Time. GMT+0100

(GMT Stands for Greenwich Meridian Time)

EST - for what Country?

--------

United States EST GMT -0500

Difference of - 6 hours. so 10:00am CET would be 04:00am EST (US)

--------

--------

Australia EST GMT +1000

Difference of 9 hours making 10:00 move to 19:00 (07:00 PM) (BUT, due to daylight savings being in effect in this timezone you add an hour. So it is 8PM)

If it's 10 AM Eastern Time, then it's 9 AM Central Time. Eastern Time is one hour ahead of Central Time.

The mainland U.S. has four time zones (Alaska and Hawaii each have their own time zones, which makes a total of 6 different time zones for the U.S.).

From west to east, the mainland U.S.'s time zones are: Pacific Time, Mountain Time, Central Time and Eastern Time. Each is one hour later than the last. For example, if it's 3 PM Pacific Time, then it's 4 PM Mountain Time, 5 PM Central Time and 6 PM Eastern Time.

If by CET you mean Central European Time, that is GMT+0100 in winter and GMT+0200 in summer. CST is Central Standard Time, which is GMT-0600.

Thus, if it's winter, 10:00 CET is 3:00 a.m. CST. If it's summer, 10:00 CET is 2:00 a.m. CST, which is 3:00 a.m. CDT (Central Daylight Time).

It gets confusing because, unlike with CST and CDT, there isn't a different abbreviation for the summer and winter versions of CET. It gets extra confusing in March and at the end of October and beginning of November, because Europe and North America use different dates for beginning and ending Daylight Saving Time.

In North America, when it's 10 AM EST it's 10 AM CDT and 9 AM CST, and when it's 10 AM EDT it's 9 AM CDT and 8 AM CST.

CST = UTC-6

CDT = UTC-5

EST = UTC-5

EDT = UTC-4

It is 9 am. EST is Eastern standard time and EDT is its summer counter part, thus it is always one hour more in EDT than in EST.
