If non Christians wrote about today's society what will their opinion about Christians be?

Answer

First of all, I think their opinions will be coloured by their own backgrounds and experiences, just as the opinions of Christians about non-Christian societies are coloured by the Christian background and our own experiences. So, a Tibetan Buddhist, somewhat unused to violence or confrontation in society, would react to a society, that combines Christianity with gun ownership, in a different way than would a Muslim from a nation wracked by civil violence.

A Muslim, accustomed to praying five times a day, may note the relatively casual religious attitude of Christians who seldom pray. On the other hand, a follower of an Eastern religion that sets fewer obligations on overt piety may note what he or she sees as a high level of weekly church attendance among Christians.

Overall, I think the opinion expressed would be positive. The non-Christian would know that there are many good people, as well as a few who are not, in Christian society - just as there are in his or her own society. He or she would report a generally moral, law-abiding and tolerant society where charity is considered a virtue. Perhaps he or she would see a need for better understanding among Christians of the other great faiths in the world.
