the answer is no. they will still be called pom-poms. if you dont belive me then listen to the following sentence.....

1. I have a pair of pom-poms and you have a pair of pom-poms.

2. I have a pair of pom-pom-pom-poms and you have a pair of pom-pom-pom-poms.

I think the first sentence is shorter and makes sence. Discuss the answer and tell your opinion.
