If someone breaks into your car does your insurance go up after you report the claim to get the window fixed? |

Execute Thieves
No, not necessarily. This has happened to me three times, and my insurance has still not gone up. My truck was stolen taken to mexico, used to smuggle immigrants, then ripped apart. The damage was 12000 and my insurance still has not risen a penny.
It depends on the crime stats for your area. If it is increasing, or has been the last few years, then you may see an increase. Also the number of claims you have had previously, and your risk is assessed. Your Zip Code plays a major role, but maybe not for much longer.
So, no, thefts, break ins, shouldn't raise the premium too much, if at all. If the deductible is high, might as well just pay for the window, and not claim it. Ask them first if they plan on screwing you again after you've already been screwed by thieves, it's not your fault, so why penalize you?
