I am sorry to say the outcome is not good. Once you settle into a job and have proven you are trying then your chances rise considerably. You can have visitation rights of course.

Time to settle down and take on that responsiblility. Doesn't sound like you are all that serious about the custody of your child. Even if you take a job and show you have stability, live in a decent neighborhood and can support a child and are credible your chances are good. So far, you haven't shown any signs of this so don't waste your time trying to get custody.

Like all such issues the outcome would be at the descretion of the presiding judge. In all likelihood the judge would table the custody petition and give the father a specified amount of time to "get his act together." To find and keep gainful employment, establish a permanent residence and establish, become a stable contributing member of society. After which the father could resubmit the custody petition along with proof of his changed lifestyle.
