Because the puppatires make them talk
He's not THE first, apparently Big Bird was the first character to appear, then Oscar the Grouch, then Bert & Ernie, then a group of random Muppets, and then Kermit appears w/ his 'W' lecture so yes he was in the original roster of Muppet characters when Sesame Street premiered but he was not the first.
The very first episode of Sesame Street was aired on November 10th, 1969.In the first episode of Sesame Street, Gordon takes a girl named Sally on a tour of Sesame Street, introducing her (and the viewers) to the various characters on the show. On the street, Sally meets the human cast -- Gordon, Susan, Bob and Mr. Hooper -- as well as two Muppet characters, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.Ernie and Bert appear for the first time, and Kermit the Frog gives a lecture on the letter W, interrupted by an early version of Cookie Monster. Also featured in this episode are the first installments of the "Number Song Series" and "Jazz" cartoons, the first appearance of a group of Anything Muppets, and the first performance of "One of These Things". Carol Burnett is the first celebrity guest to appear on the show.In this episode, many sketches are introduced by the characters, even within the inserts. This reflects the fact that the show was initially conceived as a children's version of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. For example, Gordon asks Kermit to give his W lecture, and when the sketch begins, Kermit says that Gordon asked him to talk about the letter W.

As of now only a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street has been made, and will be in theatres int he spring. There hasn't been any talk of remaking the entire series. There has been a reboot of Friday the 13th that came out in 2009. And there has been no talk either of a Freddy vs Jason remake, considering the Freddy vs Jason movie only came out in 2003.
if you watch the original Teenage mutant ninja turtles movie from the 1980's, you will discover that they lived at "122 1/8 street, New York".
There are a couple different types of Sesame Street toys. There are stuffed animals, ones that talk, and ones that don't. There are also puzzles, games, activity type toys, and puppets.
They have a Computer chip to move the Muppet's or they use REALLY thin strings and they use a voice chip and put it in there mouths then they have real people talk into microphones and then it vibrates into the Muppet's mouth

Pinocchio is the central character of the story written by Carlo Collodi, 'The Adventures of Pinocchio.' He was a wooden puppet (a Marionette), made by an old man called Geppetto, from a piece of wood that could talk. Pinocchio goes through a series of adventures, until he finally learns that in order to achieve one's goals, one needs to work hard. He tries to evade this several times, and always gets caught in dangerous situations. In the end, he manages to prove he changed from a selfish sloth into a hard-working and loving boy, and this change is reflected in the fact that he actually becomes a real boy, thus fulfilling his dream.
He actually makes the voices for the puppets himself and because on stage, where he has a personal microphone fitted on to his shirt somewhere, that is why his puppet speaks as loud as he does without him barely moving his mouth but you can see his throat wiggle a bit.
