If you are an authorized user of a credit card but not the primary person on the card what financial responsibility do you have for the accumulated debt?

Answer

The financial responsibility of a AU is to the credit card holder not the creditor. AU's are not responsible for repaying the debt incurred, the premise being that the they have no control over the account. Some creditor's will however, attempt to make the AU pay at least a partial of the amount owed, even though the AU is not legally obligated.
