If you are being sued by a credit card co should you contact the law office to try to set up payments before it goes to court? |

Answer
is it an actual summns from the court, or a letter from the law firm, saying they are going to sue? You should explore all your options before trying to make a deal. Make certain the debt is legitimate. Check the SOL for your state. Find out what your state exemptions are in case a judgment is rendered, etc. Negotiation is always preferable to litigation. Be careful what you agree to (if anything) and do not agree to anything that is not written in plain, easily understandable terms.
