If you are currently collecting unemployment but recently became disabled can you still collect unemployment?

Unfortunately, if you became disabled after you started receiving unemployment benefits, you could no longer qualify as to being ready willing, and able to actively seek full time employment immediately. If it had been job related, you probably could have received Worker's Comp. Otherwise there may be some other programs, i.e. your state's human resources office, etc.

∙ 13y agoTo qualify for unemployment benefits, you must be able to work and actively seeking work. If you are incapacitiated from working you cannot qualify for UI benefits.

∙ 14y agoNo, you can not receive unemployment while on LD. To receive unemployment you must be able, available, and willing to work now. If you are out on LD, then you do not meet the requirements.
