What you need to do first is contact the Family and Domestic Relations Division of the court system for the county in which you reside and ask to file a complaint for child support. If you are getting food stamps/medicaid or welfare this should be done automatically when you apply for these services.

Even if you dont get public aid you entitled to receive child support but youll need to establish paternity (prove who the father is).

It's a long drawn out process but even unmarried parents are entitled to get support for their kids. Or to put it more accurately, all children are entitled to the support of each parent regardless of their parents' marital status.
