Hi,
Yes, you should, providing you're feeding the TV a digital signal. If not, you'll see standard definition programming instead.
Since we're in a transition from analog to digital TV, most sets contain tuners and inputs capable of handling both digital and analog signal inputs. and that for instance, may be why you'll have to set up your TV's tuner section twice. Once to search for the remaining analog channels and then again, for the digital channels. Of course once you've done that, you shouldn't have to change the TV's operating mode every time you want to go from an analog to digital channel when viewing. The TV should be able to determine the difference and just display the channel you've selected.
For awhile, it's all going to be a bit of a mess during this transitional period, and TV manufacturers are throwing in the kitchen sink too, when it comes to extra inputs and features. Personally, I'm a fan of digital television, but I'm not all that hot on the quality of the products being put out and the life expectancy of the new TV's. Do your research before you buy a new TV.
Hope this helps,
Cubby
To connect the PS3 to a HDTV you need an HDMI cable if your HDTV has an HDMI connection, if it doesn't you need a PS3 component cable.
You need to use component or S video connection with an optional PS3 A/V cable connection cable
Yes the cable for the A/V connection that comes with a PS3 is for a standard TV. In order for your HDTV to get an HD connection from your PS3 you must purchase an optional A/V cable (HDMI or PS3 Component). The HDTV will still be able to provide you will a standard 480i picture using the A/V cables that come with the PS3 for your connection
Hi, HDTV and regular TV signals aren't compatible. Unless you can get a converter box somewhere, don't waste your time trying. Hope this helps, Cubby
You need an HDTV for it to work and the TV has to have an HDMI connection. Then you need to turn your HDTV to the location for the HDMI that was connected
No, this TV has an analog tuner. When it was built, it was thought that DVI was going to be the connection of choice for HDTV systems, so it has these inputs. It can be connected to HDTV tuners w ith a HDMI to DVI converter cable.
Put up your own Antenna if you have a HDTV or subscribe to a Satellite service.
For your PS3 connection you need WiFi or an ethernet cable that is connected to the internet. The HDMI cable only connects the PS3 to the HDTV and will not provide the internet connection.
Yes, you can connect a PS3 to an HDTV by a component cable or an HDMI cable.
You can but the picture won't be that great and if I were you I would just call your cable provider and upgrade to digital cable because most markets are going to a digital signal now analog is like cassette tape not cool anymore . I must warn you though once you see HD you'll never wanna go back to regular cable.
PS3 must be connected to a HDTV and the connection must not use the 480 I A/V cable that came with the PS3. It must be either HDMI or optional PS3 component cable and the PS3 must have the settings adjusted for the HDTV. To get full blue ray you need the 1080P HDTV
absolutely NOT, that is how Cable co. make their money!!!!
