Depending on how long this egg had been abandoned when you found it, and how long it had been incubated there is a remote possibility that you could continue the incubation process. If it had been incubated for 7 day prior to you finding it, touch a small bright flashlight to the top of the egg to see if there is any life / growth. You need an egg incubator. Incubation periods and hatching periods require different temperatures and humidity, as well the number of turns the egg requires per day. This sounds like a lot of work and equipment for one egg, doesn't it? Your best bet may be to take the egg to a hatchery or your local zoo, where you know they have all the required equipment and technology at their finger tips. More input from FAQ Farmers: * Yes, it can and why not try? If you do not have an incubator make one... I have hatched a chicken egg in a toaster oven before. They imprint too - meaning that when you hatch waterfowl YOU ARE the mother!!! PLEASE KNOW THE GOSLING WILL DROWN IF PUT IN WATER IF NOT HATCHED BY ITS MAMA.
Once I had a chicken egg that got a crack in it when it was 2 week into incubation and it still hatched. If the membrane (the skin inside the egg) isn't broken then it can hatch :) :).
It would still be viable but the crack in the egg will probably render it useless for hatching. Cracks in eggs allow bacteria and disease to enter the fertilized eggs and effect the viability. Most cracked eggs do not make it to full hatch.
yes
Yes, a duck egg that is darkening will still hatch if it is not too late, and is being looked after. Normally, the darkening it the duckling itself.
For a duck egg to hatch with incubation it take approximatly 25-28 days. If the temperture is higher it will hatch faster.
eggsof course the chicken egg.because chickensit on its egg more than a duck. mohamed basithChicken eggs take 21 days to hatch, Duck eggs take about 28 days to hatch.
The egg would be no good once it has been cracked.
Your duck egg is dead. Throw it away.
There is a possibility. It all depends on the crack and if bacteria got into it. If the crack isnt to bad you could melt candlewax and put the melted candlewax on the crack of the egg. If the egg just has a little dent you could barely noticed then if you want you can use nail polish. Hope this works.
yes I do believe so, my duck is sitting on her eggs and my hubby moved them and is still sitting on them
A duck egg can take from 26 to 35 days to hatch. Mallards take 26.5 days to hatch on average.
A fertile, viable duck egg typically hatches 28 days after incubation is begun.
