since your both out of NY jurisdiction it would SEEM that you should be able to divorce him from the UK. I would go to the Family Court in your area to get the correct procedure for filing for dissoulution of marriage. You didn't state whether you knew WHERE in SF he is living. If you his street address then papers should be sent there (Certified or whatever the court requires). If you have no address then the court will require that you publish in local SF paper of the upcoming dissolution of marriage case. God Bless!
