Answer

Obviously you don't have to tell anyone about the condition you went thru. It is a very personal decision. But pesonally, I wouldn't tell them. Unfortunately, people do look down on mental conditions, no matter what it is or what caused it. Well, that's my personal belief. Once you're past the stage of interviewing and gotten the job and gotten to know the people, you can share your experiences if you feel comfortable. But a job interview, IMO is not the place to tell them this. Good luck.

Answer

If you were personally a witness to what happened during 9-11, then simply say you needed some time off to deal with the loss, from being afraid to come into the city, and to get your life back together like many other people had to deal with. However, you can also say, very confidently, that you are fine now and that you are more than ready to get back to things the way you are and that you're not afraid to come back into the city, that you truly believe it is safe now.

Answer

Hi.

What other things did you do while you were unemployed? You don't have to tell them that you were dealing with emotional trauma. Instead, you can tell them about the "good" things you did. Perhaps you took care of your mother, worked on writing, or spent some time researching your nitch instead of jumping back into the workforce immediately.
