When anyone of us could be in a bad relationship we go into "denial mode" for a bit, but the trick is, to get out of that denial mode and see the relationship for what it really is. You can't change people if they don't want to be changed. You need to get your self respect back and here is how you do it:

Take a deep breath and kick this guy right out of your life! Scary? Yes it is, but you will never look back with regrets because:

If you continue to see this jerk, he is taking up your precious time and this prevents you from growing mentally and spiritually and also, it stops you from finding that special guy that you will go through the rest of your life with.

See this relationship for what it is, and what he really is doing to you (all the above I have mentioned.) Get mad! He's taking something very precious from you ... your self respect and stunting your growth pattern to be an independent, happy young woman. You deserve better!

I left my first husband after 3 1/2 years because he lied and cheated on me. At first I thought I could change him, but soon it became very tiresome and I realized I'd made one big mistake. I left him, moved into my own apartment, started divorce proceedings, got myself a new job and started going out with my girlfriends. Please sit down and write on paper what part of your personality you would like to change. Then pick away at it. Remember, none of us are perfect and we never will be, but we can always improve on ourselves throughout our lives. It never stops! Don't beat yourself up, but pull yourself up! Start now! Start going out with girlfriends and go out and have fun. In time you will meet someone.

Now ... count to ten and kick this guy out of your life!

This is very hard, but in time you will actually WANT to get rid of him. Make a list of the things you would miss about him and a list of the things you would not miss about him. Read it when you feel like you're going into denial.
