If you like this guy and he likes you too but you never said anything to each other because you were unsure of the other's reaction what do you do when its too late and he's leaving the country?

What if???

actually this happened to me but i (the girl) was the one who left the country.  we had been good friends for a long time. my friends and other people told me he liked me but we never talked about it.  i wrote him a letter one time telling him how i felt, but we never talked about it.  after the letter, we just went on with our friendship like i never wrote the letter.  how sad but i guess i settled for his friendship than not having him at all.

anyway i met a man and fell in love. i moved out of the country.  i love my hubby so much, but still can't help but think the inevitable what if????  i regret that we didn't talk about it.  sometimes i am so confident he liked me but then again, why didn't he say anything?  anyway bottom line is, i'm probably gonna spend the rest of my life wondering what if?? sad but true.  i don't have his email address, and if i call him, he might not even answer the question...."did you ever like me" cause he's very respectful and would not do that.
