What you need to do is see how much it will be for out of network providers in case you get hurt in Another Country. Do you think that Country will pick up your medical tab if you get hurt? They won't. Just keep it on, and make sure you have all the vaccinations you might need for where ever you're going. * When you return, as long as you're still healthy, there shouldn't be any problem getting coverage. If you have an HMO it will only cover emergencies out of country. PPO will probably pay the out of network benefit.
