If you were ticketed driving someone else's uninsured car can you claim a 'mechanical violation' so the court goes after the owner?

Answer

you can claim anything you want- will the court believe it ??/

Did you know the vehicle was uninsured? If you did youre dreaming thinking the "mechanical violation "is valid. That is a financial violation , which should be against the owner, not the operator.Thats the arguement I would make to the court, as the owner of the vehicle has a responsability to make sure that his vehicle is insured if it is going to be operated on a public hiway.
